Animal Husbandry Changes in Farming Simulator 25
Animal Husbandry Changes in Farming Simulator 25
Farming Simulator 25 marks a big improvement to the Farming Simulator series. It’s not only the visual updates that bring better lighting, weather effects, and crop foliage but also changes in the way core game mechanics work. The animal husbandry system, for example, will see several changes that should make this feature of the game a lot more fleshed out and interesting!
If you ever wanted animal husbandry in Farming Simulator to be much better, FS25 would be the perfect choice. Let’s talk about some of the most important updates to all things livestock in the latest game.
What’s new in animal breeding?
If you have been playing the previous Farming Simulator games, you might be surprised by a few changes – several things about animal breeding on FS25 are completely new!
- Detailed and realistic breeding process. The monitoring is much more advanced, and you can see a lot of information. Age, health, breeding process, living conditions, and more will help you plan better and get a better success rate.
- Detailed growing process. This is something that many Farming Simulator players have been asking for – and it’s finally here! Now, you will be able to take care of animals from their birth. Newborn animals, of course, will require more specialized care. Special feed, special conditions, and constant health monitoring will make this part of the process a lot more detailed.
- Goats and buffalo were introduced. A different type of animal will require different types of care and feed. With two different species introduced, you will have plenty of opportunities to explore this mechanic in detail. It is still unknown how different growing a goat or a buffalo would be compared to a cow – but we expect many players to share their findings, wins, and failures online.
- Updated livestock economics engine. New breeding mechanics and new animal species will also mean changes in the livestock economy. The offspring will require additional work and resources, and the market demand constantly fluctuates – meaning that you will need to make various decisions and calculations to maximize your profits. What activities you will do is your decision – so far, it’s difficult to tell whether randomness will have a big effect on the game or if there will be a basic rulebook to follow.
- Life cycles of animals. As animals age, they will need different levels of attention and care. The productivity of animals will also decrease, and your job will be to find the best breeding times and plan accordingly to keep your animal roster at an optimal age. Like in real life, this will require plenty of attention and care.
How will the FS25 animal husbandry update change the gameplay?
Animal husbandry in previous Farming Simulator games was simplistic, leaving little room for error. All you had to do was ensure the animals had enough feed and water. Now, all of this changes – and for some players, this might look like a problem. Caring for the entire life cycle and planning for years ahead will reward players who take animal husbandry seriously and potentially make animal husbandry less viable as a way of making passive income.
We expect modders to make various changes to the FS25 animal husbandry to make the livestock experience different, but we can’t wait to try everything for ourselves!
