John Deere 8760/8960 v1.2

John Deere 8760/8960 v1.2

My first Tractor convert release for FS25 and one that I simply cannot do without for FS25 – the John Deere 8760/8960

V1.2.0.0
Following the release of the 8760/8960 earlier this year I was contacted by BcBuhler farms who dug up an old model of their dad’s 8570 tractor he and his brother made in Blender, and offered to donate the model to put the hood on the chassis of the 8760/8960 mod as a base.
To date there has not been a public 8570/8770 or an 8870 in FS, the closest being Custom Modding’s 8960/8970 in FS17 and FS19.
So, naturally I agreed and thus started about half a month’s worth of work modifying the hood to fit the original mod, making decals (again, generously provided by BcBuhler Farms) and finally custom dirt and specular maps.
Included with this update are the 8070 series under a separate store icon in Large tractors with the original pricing from new in 1993:
8570 – 250hp
8770 – 300hp
8870 – 350hp
The 8970 has got decals, BUT I am yet to source a suitable 8970 model and accurate measurements to include it. Plan will be to also source some Cummins engine sounds from a real 8970 to make the tractor sound accurate.
Additionally, tire options PTO 3-point and GPS options are the same as the 8060 series, with a special light set-up designed to represent BcBuhler’s dad’s real life 8570 from which measurements were taken to make this mod possible.
Also something worth noting, following patch 1.13 the materials in the 8060 series cab broke on the wear map side of things, I’ve tried to patch this up by re-implementing the old FS22 vmask textures, however this may change in a future update.

History behind this mod:
IRL my dad bought a 1992 John Deere 8760 tractor back in 1996 for use as his big air seeding and ploughing tractor in Western Australia. However, we found that the tractor had a few faults after a few years. One of these faults was the visibility at night with the factory lights the tractor had from new. So, to rectify the issue, new LED Hella spotlights were ordered, and were fitted to the tractor complete with a light bar for improved visibility at night. by the early/mid 2000s.

Recently, in 2024 we sold this tractor, which we lovingly nicknamed “Big Green”. And, because I couldn’t take a piece of the real tractor as a keepsake, I thought I’d do one better by making Big Green’s Light bar in FS22.
Like the 7810, this mod took quite a bit to get working right, as not only did Siid modding put the incorrect gearbox in the original mod, but also put incorrect sounds on the mod, which looking at the files looks to be taken from a Fendt, not a John Deere.

Updates/changes from FS22:
– Mod has been updated to FS25 materials, so the tractor will get wet in all the areas you’d expect, just the water droplets aren’t very noticeable on the hood.
– The Tractor is fitted with the John Deere 15L engine sounds found on Deyluck’s 8650 mod as this is currently the closest I can currently get to genuine recordings from the real 8760
– All tires are base-game FS25 standard with BKT Michelin and Continentals, with plans in not too distant future to throw some Firestone and Goodyear tires on after Spesard & STX Farms’ tires are ready to go
– The cab has updated materials and has been prepared for a potential future update which will be including an option for a 24-speed Synchro-shift
– Precision Planting and Kinze Monitors have been updated to the same standards as the ones currently in Casearias’ Steiger
– All lights on the tractor have been updated to FS25 standards.

I do have plans to continue updating and improving the tractor as I go along, including adding a 24-speed partial powershift transmission, swapping the steps and toolbox positions to match the irl tractor and one day record the “voice” of the real “Big Green” to have 100% authentic sounds to go with the mod in FS.
As usual the mod has had all errors and warnings 100% clear from the log, however if for whatever reason you run into any issues, please do let me know

– Siid Modding for the original tractor in FS19 and FS22
– Casearias Modding for the PP, Kinze and Concord in-cab monitors
– EVERYONE ELSE who made other various models for steering wheels GPS monitors etc that all went in this mod who I cannot remember who made the originals.
