Farming Simulator 25 Release, Updates, Features, and Trailer
Farming Simulator 25 Release, Updates, Features, and Trailer
Farming Simulator 25 is coming closer every single day! Now, we have so much more than unreliable leaks and hopeful guesswork. With the release of the trailer and GIANTS Software revealing more and more information, there are plenty of things to discuss. Let’s take a deep look at the officially announced and expected features – and what that means to the future of this franchise.
Farming Simulator 25 will be released on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, for PC and Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. No Xbox One and PS4 release is expected.
FS25 features – confirmed by the trailer and developers!
Once the new FS25 trailer had dropped, the community got to work dissecting every single frame, looking for hidden easter eggs. The developer has also hinted at various things the new game will have. Here, we will discuss what you can expect in the upcoming game.
New crops
The CGI trailer immediately revealed some things, such as the fact that FS25 will have rice as a brand-new crop. This makes sense, considering Asia is a massive focus for the latest Farming Simulator game.
Spinach will also be included; this is confirmed by the blog post from GIANTS Software. We also don’t expect Farming Simulator 25 to remove any crops for the previous games, that simply wouldn’t make any sense. Some new crops might still be announced in order to build a more realistic Asian farm with more types of local produce. With that in mind, these are the crops we expect to see in FS25 – and the list might still get expanded:
- Rice (two different types)
- Spinach
- Wheat
- Peas
- Barley
- Oats
- Rapeseed
- Sorghum
- Grapes
- Olives
- Sunflowers
- Soybeans
- Maize
- Potatoes
- Sugar beet
- Sugar cane
- Grass
- Carrots
- Beet
- Parsnips
- Oilseed radish
- Cotton
- Poplars
New brands in FS25
The research for Simmods has revealed that NOVAG, a French manufacturer making seed sowing machines will feature on Farming Simulator 25.
Rani, a Finnish packaging company, will also feature RaniWrap plastic for bales. This is confirmed by the press release of the company itself. How exactly a different type of bale wrap will be featured in the game, and what this means for baling mechanics, we still can’t tell for sure.
New maps
If you have watched the trailer just above, you’ll know one thing – an Asian map is absolutely coming. The community managers of the Farming Simulator series have also confirmed that a Central European map called “Zielonka” will also feature in the latest game.
The third map, revealed and explained in detail at FarmCon 24 is a North American one, called “Riverbend Springs”. It’s a classic American heartland map – have a look at the map right here.
One of the most interesting features about this map is the interactive buildings, which will be exciting for both players, and modders looking to add more functionality to the base map. You will find buildings and structures, like farmers’ market, small selling stands, farmhouses, interactive shelves, and new types of fences.
Weather updates
Farming Simulator 25 is not released on older-gen consoles – what this means to you as a player, is the fact that this is a proper “next generation” game, with advanced custom environments. Improved weather patterns are coming, and storms will be a lot more realistic, causing actual damage on your harvest. This change might be inconvenient to players looking to get the best results all of the time – but it’s a realistic situation, and the next-gen weather physics will help make the farming experience as lifelike as possible.
The media shared by the developers also focus on fog, which could negatively impact your visibility. This volumetric fog will be more than just a foggy backdrop, looking different from every angle and getting affected by the environment.
In addition to this, the community managers of the series have also shared some details on the light features on the game, which focus on both making the game look realistic, and very pretty. The ambient lighting will be improved, and translucent lighting effects, so called “sun beams”, or “God rays” will also be in the game.
Dynamic soil
This is a feature many players have absolutely wanted – whether they know it or not. Soil, obviously, is one of the most important things about a Farming Simulator game. No longer a passing tractor will leave only a different texture behind itself. In the trailer, you can see the tyres actually sinking in the ground, and the confirmed dynamic soil features will attempt to accurately react to weather and your machinery.
This is one of the features that wouldn’t be possible on older-gen consoles, and some weaker PCs as well. We are looking forward to seeing how differently this feature will look at different power level PCs and consoles. If it’s optimized well – it will massively improve how this game looks and feels. Hopefully, this won’t come with a massive performance penalty, or else many players will simply disable this long-awaited feature.
Water buffalo and other animals
In terms of livestock, there is only one guaranteed addition – the water buffalo, heavily featured in both the trailer, and the following press information. There is still some doubt whether buffalo will feature heavily in the gameplay itself, but considering how important they are to farming in many regions in Asia, we expect them to be crucial.
As usual, we don’t expect any animals to be removed, so you won’t have to replace cows with buffalo on your Polish-style farm.
New FS25 machinery – what to expect?
With the official announcement of Farming Simulator 25, GIANTS Software has released plenty of new images to the press. From those images, eagle-eyed fans and experts have already gathered, which vehicles and equipment will feature in the game. Let’s take a look.
Harvester: New Holland CR 11
The New Holland CR 11 combine will be the new flagship harvester in the game. According to NH themselves, the new CR11 has a massive 20 thousand liter grain tank, and a 775 HP engine. The straw and chaff management system also lets the residual materials spread over 18 meters in width. The cutterbar goes up to 15 meters in width.
Harvester: Case IH AF11 combine
The lineup of large flagship combine harvesters will also include the latest English Case IH AF11. It is incredibly similar to the New Holland CR 11 – it has the same 20 thousand liters grain tank, and a 775 HP engine. In many ways, this is almost eerily similar.
Harvester: John Deere S7
The powerful harvester from John Deere, the S7 900 has a powerful 625 HP engine, and has a grain tank that can hold up to 14,100 liters of grain. The S7 joins the John Deere flagship X9 1100, which is already available on FS22, and has an even bigger, 700 HP engine.
Tractor: Fendt 728 Vario Gen. 7
The 7th generation Fendt 728 Vario was one of the most beloved tractor mods on the previous Farming Simulator game: now, it’s here on FS25. With the maximum engine power of 303 HP, this tractor is an excellent all-rounded for medium-to-large size farms.
In the released footage, the 728 also has a Pro-Til 4TX seed drill from the Polish manufacturer, Mzuri. It has a working width of 4 meters, and it folds to just 2.95 m when it’s on the roads. You can use the split hopper to hold both fertilizer and seed. In order to use the Pro-Til 4TX, you need 200 HP of power. The Fendt tractor easily offers that, and more.
Tractor: Massey Ferguson 9S
One of the latest tractors from Massey Ferguson, the 9S was presented in 2023, and is also available as an official tractor on the game. GIANTS have released some FS25 footage with it.
Tractor: Claas Xerion 12.650
The latest and greatest Claas Xerion, is a heavy duty tracked tractor, focused on heavy field work and massive yields. On FS25, it should come in two different versions. The Xerion 12.590 Terra Trac comes with 430 kW or 585 HP. The upgraded Xerion 12.650 Terra Trac is even more powerful, coming at 480 kW or 653 HP.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the prices for the latest Claas start at a low-low €700,000. On the screenshots released by GIANTS Software, you can see this tractor fitted with a 3.4 ton front weight, using a tow rope. This is something seasoned FS22 players might be familiar with.
Tractor: Case Quadtrac 715
The Farming Simulator 25 trailer has also highlighted the tracked tractor from Case – the Quadtrac 715. This is another massively powerful tractor, going all the way to 778 HP. The soil-friendly tracks will help you move this giant across the field with little damage to the dynamic soil, and the insane engine will let you pull any attachment that can be attached.
Cultivator: SUMMERS Superchisel
The American company from North Dakota, SUMMERS, makes soil cultivation equipment, such as stone pickers, rollers, and cultivators. equipment for soil cultivation. On the FS25 trailer, we can see their 18-meter wide Superchisel chisel plow. This can possibly be a sign of more regional American brands making it to the game – making the American farm saves even more exciting and realistic.
Motorbike: Aprilia Motocross RX 125
This is a new one: Farming Simulator 25 is also fully expected to feature motorbikes for the first time. Possibly available as a miscellaneous item in the store, the Aprilia Motocross RX 125 featured on the trailer has a few pretty good cases we can think of. Our favorite right now? The Asian map will probably be perfect for hopping on your motorbike and going through tough terrain to see how your rice fields are doing. If that’s the case – we are super excited to use it.
MacDon Pack
The MacDon Pack will come to everyone who pre-ordered as a bonus. At the very least, it will include the MacDon M1240 windrower and the MacDon R216 SP disk header. With them, you should be able to mow grass or hay and lay it in a swath at the same time, saving you plenty of time.
Rice machine: ISEKI PR/PRJ
The ISEKI PR/PRJ is a rice machine that comes from the Japanese manufacturer Iseki & Co. The company is just under 100 years old, founded back in 1926. You can see the PR/PRJ in the trailer released by the company.
FS25 Season Pass
Similarly to previous Farming Simulator games, FS25 will also feature a Season Pass, which will come with plenty of DLC content. Some information on what the DLC will include has already been released.
Here is what you can expect from FS25 DLCs in 2025:
- Q1 2025 (Jan-March): Innovative machinery. Rumors and general assumptions indicate that this might include self-driving functionality.
- Q2 2025 (April-June): Performance on plains and prairies. This is expected to be related to supersized, powerful machinery, suited for massive farms.
- Q3 2025 (July-Sept.): The stars align! This is by far the most vague of all DLCs. With the stars and the tyre climbing up the hill, some people in the community have assumed that this might mean heavy-duty trucks from Mercedes.
- Q4 2025 (Oct.-Dec.): New map. All we got is the image we see above – but the geography nerds, myself included, strongly believe this image is supposed to depict the Lake District of England.
Farming Simulator 25 – All Versions
The PC version, pre-ordered before the game is released, will come with the extra MacDon pack. The box version of the game will also include the official Farming Simulator keychain.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions won’t include the keychain, but the pre-orders will also come with the MacDon pack.
For the true hardcore fans playing on PC, the Collector’s Edition of the game will include all the goodies you can think of. Here is a list of the things to expect:
- Farming Simulator 25 (Disk + Digital)
- Bonus MacDon Pack
- USB ignition lock (connect lock to computer, and turn the key to start the engine) with two keys
- Farming Simulator” keychain
- 16-Bit Farming Simulator Retro Edition game + Soundtrack of the game
- Modding Tutorials Version 6.0 guidebook
- Stickers from 32 machinery brands
- New Holland CR11 Gold Edition skin
- 3x A2 posters (growth calendar and maps)
Also, the covers of the game will be different, depending on the region of where you’re buying the game. There will be three different covers – one for German-speaking Europe, one for America, and another one for the rest of the world. The covers will look identical, except for the tractor in the center. For the most avid collectors, it might be a bit of a challenge to get physical disk boxes from all across the world.
Farming Simulator 25 will not be available on last-gen consoles, namely Xbox One and PS4. This latest game will feature next-gen lighting and weather effects, and plenty of new additions. We can’t wait to play this game – hope you’re feeling the same way as well!
