Learn more about NPC in FS25 and How they Work
Talking NPCs – are coming to Farming Simulator 25! They will provide information about buildings or locations, guides, and tutorials. You can also take orders and missions from NPC.
The NPC feature is completely optional. This means you don’t have to interact with the NPC on the map to use the game features! They are just a small addition, and according to GIANTS, they had no significant changes in the development of the main features.
To make the game more realistic, you can speak with NPC! They have real actor’s voices – but only in English! The text window, which is discussed below, also only appears to be available in English so far.
The NPCs can share tips and tutorials for new players starting farming for the first time with Farming Simulator 25. For example, agricultural basics or weather events are explained.
Grandpa Walter
This NPC has many stories related to farming tasks. He is well known for his farming business, which his generation has run. The sad story is that Walter’s son decided not to continue farming and moved to the city. Walter is too old to manage his farm and is looking for someone to harvest his field. Grandpa Walter is ready to share all his knowledge with you, and if you need help, he will refer you to his best friend. Here are some examples of dialogs with him:
I’m doin’ this for a while now. Despite all the modernization, there are still farmers sitting on tractors, right? My own grandfather, yes I had one too, he was old-school. And I mean it in the actual definition.
He did everything on horseback. Plowing, sowing, getting to town and delivering his produce to the market. As did most of the others. Horses were the backbone of it all.
Back then, a significant portion of his farm was about horse breeding and selling strong, healthy mares and stallions to other farmers.
Then, tractors became a thing. Slowly, at first. Then, more and more horses were retired from plowing duty.
Helper Ben
He has been working in the fields for 30 years and is Walter’s friend. Ben will explain step-by-step instructions on sowing or harvesting or which machines are necessary for various farming tasks. Ask him what the difference is between plows and cultivators. You can find him near the starting farm. Some dialog with Ben:
Well, since your grandfather slowed down, he didn’t really bother with the latest machines and did a lot of stuff… well, in an “old school” kind of way.
That’s probably why he sent you to me. I’m an avid reader of all those agricultural magazines, you know. Old, but still learning…
If you come to me, I can help you make sure everything grows well in the fields.
Neighbor David
David has already been introduced as not the smartest boy in the city. One day, he wants to be a farmer, but he has no clue what farming looks like. He has made many mistakes already, so he is ready to share with you for a better start! If you are a beginner, David will be your best friend to talk about farming, and here is some dialog with him:
Sure, there are reasons for that. Growing practices so we can feed the population with huge amounts of food, for example.
I then learned that produce for mass markets is often harvested before it is fully ripe to withstand transportation and storage, for example.
Refrigeration, humidity control, long periods of storage, and so on. That all of these can affect the flavor and what you can taste and smell.
Never thought about that when I was still your common city boy. But I know now. And I appreciate what I harvest with my own hands even more now.
Animal Farmer Katie
Katie was introduced as a female animal farmer who traveled often and returned to the village to care for her animal farm. She is full of stories from her travels, but Katie is the first person to talk to if you want to learn the basics of animal husbandry. First, you will need to listen to her stories about her trips worldwide. She talks too much, so be careful because not everything she says can be true and valuable. Katie’s dialog example here:
Aren’t you a curious one!
When I was reading about medieval farming, I was reminded that I really loved our farm, and the country life surrounded by nature, animals and livestock.
So I changed my major to agricultural sciences and only minored in history. Can’t escape your families’ legacy sometimes, huh?
When I finished college, I traveled the world and worked on farms to see how they were doing things in other countries and cultures.
Lumberjack Noah
Noah is a forester and is waiting for you at the sawmill. He has a lot of experience and knowledge in the field of forestry. You can talk to him if you want to get advice on behaving in forest areas, and he will give you forestry basics in the game. He is good at woodcarving, so he wants to talk more about it and share some of the crafted items he made with dialogs such as:
This is what some people think of me and my profession, and it fills me with emotions on the negative side. It is important to handle any forest with care and respect to leave its overall structure intact.
I just wanted to make sure that you know that my job is not to eliminate all the trees around here.We take what we need, we replace it, and we are respectful of the forest and its inhabitants. It also helps David so he can meditate in one of its clearings.
He already got a lesson on littering in the woods. I am a bit skeptical, but I believe him when he says that it fell out of his pocket. He stays under surveillance nonetheless.
