Smart Wipers BETA v1.0
Smart Wipers BETA v1.0
Smart Wipers is a small quality-of-life mod that makes automatic windshield wipers behave more intelligently.
In vanilla Farming Simulator 25, rain can activate a vehicle’s automatic wipers even when the vehicle is inside a building. Smart Wipers prevents this by checking the game’s indoor detection and suppressing automatic wiper activation whenever the vehicle is classified as indoors. Once outside, vanilla automatic wiper behavior resumes.
The mod follows the game’s own indoor classification, which means some open areas may also be treated as indoors.
Manual wiper controls are unaffected. No configuration is required.
I got annoyed by the windshield wipers activating automatically whenever it started raining, even when the vehicle was safely parked inside a shed or garage. So I decided to make a small mod to fix that.
Smart Wipers makes automatic rain-driven windshield wipers respect the game’s indoor detection system.
When a vehicle is in an area that Farming Simulator 25 identifies as indoors, automatic wiper activation is suppressed. Once you drive back outside, the wipers resume their normal automatic behaviour.
Features
Prevents automatic rain-driven wiper activation indoors.
Automatically restores normal wiper behaviour outdoors.
Leaves manual wiper controls untouched.
Uses the game’s built-in indoor detection system, with no configuration required.
A small compatibility note: The mod follows the game’s indoor classification rather than detecting physical roofs directly. This means some open areas may be considered indoors, while certain covered areas may not be. Compatibility with other mods that affect vehicle windows, rain or wipers still needs further testing. In particular, I haven’t yet tested it alongside mods such as Realistic Window Rain and Dust.
