Seasonal Calving V1.0

Seasonal Calving V1.0

Seasonal Calving brings a more realistic approach to cattle reproduction in Farming Simulator 25 by replacing year round breeding with selectable Spring or Fall calving programs.

In real cattle operations, ranchers commonly plan their breeding season so calves arrive during a specific part of the year. Climate, forage availability, winter feed costs, labor, and regional ranching practices can all influence when a producer chooses to calve.

Seasonal Calving brings that management decision into FS25.
Instead of every healthy mature cow simply reproducing whenever the base game allows it, you choose the type of cattle operation you want to run.

Calving Programs
Spring Calving
Breeding Season: June–August
Calving Season: March–May

Fall Calving
Breeding Season: December–February
Calving Season: September–November

Breeding Requirements
A cow at 0% reproduction can only begin a new pregnancy during the selected breeding season. The cow must also:
Be old enough to reproduce
Have at least 75% health
Meet the standard FS25 reproduction requirements

Once a cow becomes pregnant, the pregnancy continues normally even if her health later drops or the selected calving program is changed.

Calf Overflow System
If the mother’s husbandry is full when a calf is born, the mod automatically searches for another compatible cattle husbandry owned by the same farm.
The nearest available husbandry is used first.
Normal husbandry capacity limits are respected.
If every compatible husbandry is full, unplaced calves cannot be created.

Additional Features
Spring/Fall selection is saved separately for each savegame.
Existing pregnancies are not canceled when changing programs.
Multiplayer is supported, with the server controlling reproduction and the selected program.
Only cattle reproduction is affected. Other animal species remain unchanged.

Installation
Place `FS25_SeasonalCalving.zip` directly into your Farming Simulator 2025 mods folder. Do not extract the ZIP.
Enable Seasonal Calving when loading your savegame.
Once in game, open:
Game Settings → Seasonal Calving
and choose either:
SPRING or FALL
Then run your cattle operation the way a real rancher would—around a breeding season instead of a percentage bar.

Compatibility Notice
Seasonal Calving is designed for the standard Farming Simulator 25 cattle system.

It should currently be considered not compatible with:
Enhanced Livestock
Ritter’s Realistic Livestock

As these mods may change the same livestock and reproduction systems used by Seasonal Calving.
Built for players who want cattle management to feel less like an automatic game mechanic and more like running an actual cattle operation.
