US Map on Farming Simulator 25: Trading, forests, cows, and more!
Farming Simulator 25 will introduce us to three completely new maps. There’s the Eastern/Central Europe’s Zielonka map, which many already know and love from the FS22 DLC. There’s the Asia map, heavily featured in the FS25 trailer released earlier this year. And finally, there’s Riverbend Springs – a brand new American map introduced and showcased to the public at the FarmCon 24.
Named after a large river, bending all across the map, this map is crafted to make the best out of the updated weather, visual, and lighting upgrades in the latest game, and the updated GIANTS Engine 10. While in order to get high-quality visuals, developers had to rely on shaders, now everything can be done right from the engine.
The Riverbend Springs map will be perfect for players looking to go BIG. Massive fields, huge landscapes, and long bending roads across a huge lake will be perfect for those looking to do some genuine and huge American farming.
In this article, we’ll take a deeper look at the Riverbend Springs map on FS25, how it works, and what you should expect when playing on it.
Increase production features on FS25
With plenty of new and existing crops in the game, you will also need to find a way to turn those into products – and then turn those into profit! This idea has led to the introduction of the first major feature: The Farmers’ Market. This concept was used to explain one brand new feature of the game, which is dynamic productions. The dynamic productions will let you see the existing shelves on the market, and see which products need filling up first. The shelves will fill back up as soon as you sell your products. These shelves will be available to see and inspect on various sales stands. Smaller production units will be introduced, allowing you to make various products at a small and manageable scale.
Additional buildings will also be included, letting you expand the business of your farm even further. From FS22 DLC, a rollercoaster makes a return to the base FS25 game, letting you turn your farm into a small amusement park. The Tractor Center is where you can sell and buy vehicles, and a fuel station is there for all of your general refueling needs. And, of course, a cattle seller is also available on the map – but we have come to expect that.
Livestock sellers: cows, sheep, horses
The livestock sellers on Riverbend Springs let you purchase all types of animals to help improve your farm and give you an additional source of revenue. A different type of seller will seemingly be indicated by an icon – for instance, a cow emblem on a dealer means that they are selling cattle. It’s unclear if this icon-based separation will remain for all sellers.
On the showcase, a Massey Ferguson tractor goes past Limousin and Angus cattle: they are beef cattle, not dairy cattle. A manure heap is pushed very close to the building, with no usual separation of the base, non-modded game required, and a toxic fume is emitting from it.
Black Welsh Mountain, Alpine Stone & Black Brown Mountain sheep are all seen in the background, at the very least. Horses are in the background as well – but that’s obviously completely unsurprising, as they have been a staple in the game for a while now. As previously, you will be able to maintain and train the horses, so they can be sold for a profit.
Lakes and rivers
This map is really idyllic, and there are plenty of picturesque scenes that will look amazing on high-end PC hardware. The updated next-gen lighting and physics do a good job showcasing the sun’s rays and water. The waves look very pretty, and the sun bounces off the light very naturally.
You probably will not be able to steer any boats on FS25, and fishing is not expected to be added as a separate profit opportunity, but the docks and the sailing boats will both be there – adding some extra ambiance to the entire Riverbend Springs FS25 map. Plus, in a feature that was only available by downloading Farming Simulator mods, you will now be able to travel around the map using ferries. You will need to make sure your machinery actually fits the ferry, but when it does, it will be a great opportunity to massively reduce the distance and time you need to travel.
Forests, trees, and grasses
As expected, the latest version of Farming Simulator 25 comes with a variety of new objects, such as trees, flowers, bushes, grasses, and even updated soil textures. Of course, a variety of brand-new greenery will be used in order to showcase the progress GIANTS have made in the last three years and will feature heavily on the Riverbend Springs map.
One of such showcases will come in the form of a forest. There’s A LOT of forest in Riverbend Springs. It’s not surprising: the forestry sector is on the rise in America right now, meaning there’s logic in having large swathes of land dedicated to this. Long timber forestry will be one of the more exciting opportunities on this map, letting you get some expensive timber and making some serious money.
Alternatively, all the timber you procure can also be used in extensive new production chains, getting turned into barrels, planks, wood chips, or other products. From what we know right now, the system will be quite similar to that of FS22.
Considering how FS25 seems to include a lot of FS22 premium DLC features in the base game, we expect all the FS22 premium forestry features to be available on the newest game at launch.
Fields & crops
No two trees look the same on FS25 – and even individual crop plants will look different, as their orientation and arrangement will vary. This means that each field, an obviously crucial element of a Farming Simulator game, will look as natural and genuine as technically possible. These irregularities will combine together and make Riverbend Springs, and this game as a whole, the most realistic farming simulation experience ever made.
