Dynamic Pastures in Farming Simulator 25: What is Know?
Today, Giants Sofware has released the next Farming Simulator Magazine with some sneaky peaks into the upcoming game! What is more, DjGoHam tried to overview some features and some things we didn’t even know bout coming to Farming Simulator 25. These are not leaks, are not rumors, but only facts!
Dynamic Pastures
One of the biggest pieces of news is about animals and dynamic pastures in the FS25!
Why bring feed to the grazing animals when you can take your cows, sheep, etc, to the meadow and let them eat fresh grass there?
Dynamic pastures allow you to set up fences on every large meadow and grass field you own. This allows you feed your animals directly from nature. With seasons activated, you will, of course, have to bring the animals back to their stables in winter and have enough food on hand to bridge the time until the next spring.
We can set up fences on our grass fields to allow them to graze. This way, animals will only eat grass on these fields. I think this is a big feature of the game, for sure.
New brands and equipment
The next big news is the machines, equipment, and what brands will be in FS25. We already saw a lot of brands, but not all of them were announced. Let’s take a look at them:
Brandt for flatbed trailer and roller
Gregoire brand will bring more grape and olive harvesters.
International tractor brands we knew about were coming.
J&M transfer wagons or auger wagon brand.
Piaggio Group with Ape tricycle vehicles.
PITTS brand for timber transport.
STEMA, which is vehicle transport.
SUMMERS for cultivator equipment
Giants Engine 10
The game engine is the basis for everything that players experience in a game: graphics, sound, processing of controller inputs, calculating growth cycles of plants, trees, and animals, and controlling AI movements. The latest version of the GIANTS game engine takes a huge step forward.
From fog to water waves and ground deformation effects to simulating animals and plant growth on dozes of fields across the map, the GIANTS engine powers all of the different aspects of the world in Farming Simulator 25
Ground deformation
With Farming Simulator 25, several important engine components have been revised and improved. Here is an overview of some of the new features to expect.
One of the most requested features of Farming Simulator was to add more realism by having tractors and machinery leave tracks in the soil and mud. This is a sensible idea, considering that heavy machinery naturally leaves visible depressions while plows make deep furrows.
Soil farming is achieved through a combination of high-resolution textures, physics, and game parameters such as machine specifications, soil texture, and weather conditions, all of which have a physical influence on soil’s shape and behavior.
AI helpers improved
Another important request was to improve the AI helpers. While they could occasionally get lost in the previous version, the new improved GPS steering assistant guides them much better around corners, lets them handle headlands, and even lets them drive in different patterns, which is more realistic.
Working on the AI system also had other benefits: all road traffic pedestrians will appear more naturally in their behavior. There will also be many more AI vehicles, such as the van carrying the Hutan Pantai port or the river barges on the Riverbend Springs map.
Polished and dirty
Another feature of the Giants Engine is “Decals”. Thanks to a new way of creating textures for the visible “skin” of all objects in the game – houses, the ground, machines, etc.- it can now be covered with decals and visual objects that add depth and variety. One example of this is streets, which previously always looked the same no matter where the player looked. Decals can now look like dirt sports or cracks in the asphalt. They can be used on walls to create wear and tear effects on the previously pristine paint.
Since decals are not permanent parts of the object, designers can freely place them on the objects. This way, you have a base object that can look different every time it is placed. Of course, there is more to do, but instead of creating multiple textures for each new object, this will save time and use less processing power during gameplay.
